Why I Like Cafe Dugas

Cafe Dugas is on a quaint tree-lined street in New Orleans.  It is a tiny restaurant, which makes for a very intimate setting.  Tables are set around a tree, which grows through the center of the restaurant.  On days when it is not sweltering hot, the dining room is open to the outside, giving it a French Bistro feel.  On the hot summer days, the patio area is enclosed and the ever-present fans cool the diners.

The restaurant was named for artist Edgar Degas, who visited New Orleans in the 1870s.

Food at Cafe Dugas is an experience.  There is always something special on the menu.  Seafood has been a speciality at Cafe Dugas.  Hopefully the tragic Gulf oil spill will not eliminate the seafoods from the menu.
